Crime is a serious issue for many people in Ashfield
A survey of local people's experiences of crime has been launched by Ashfield Liberal Democrats. The survey is to be distributed to over 15,000 people across Ashfield.
Jason Zadrozny Chairman of Ashfield Liberal Democrats, one of the main organizers of the survey, said "As local campaigners some of the most common complaints we get from local people are about crime. Many people's quality of life is being harmed by what is often considered low-level disorder, such as vandalism and graffiti.
"Ashfield Liberal Democrats have launched this survey to give people a chance to tell us about their experiences of crime. We have already produced 15,000 surveys, which we are currently distributing, but we are intending to print and deliver thousands more.
"We are hoping for a huge response so that we can get a really good understanding of the concerns local people have about crime."
Lib Dem Cllr Austin Rathe said "Issues to do with crime and policing are a major concern to local people at the moment. We have just seen the Labour government forced to, temporarily, drop its plans to abolish Nottinghamshire police after a big public outcry.
"It is essential that local people's views on crime and policing are heard. That is why Ashfield Liberal Democrats are carrying out this survey and I hope as many people as possible will send us their surveys back."
