Jason Zadrozny took part in the remembrance Sunday ceremony in Skegby and Stanton Hill this week.
This was the third year running where Jason, as a local Councillor, led the wreath laying at the monument in Stanton Hill.
Jason said, "I am very proud to take part in this ceremony. Both of my grandfathers fought in the second world war. I know from them the real price our brave servicemen and their families give".
"The words that always personally touch me most are 'When you go home, tell them of us and say: 'For your tomorrow we gave our today.'"
Further Nottinghamshire ceremonies took place at County Hall, West Brigford, and Portland Square, Sutton-in-Ashfield. Both on Wednesday 11th November.
