Ashfield Parliamentary Candidate Wendy Johnson today highlighted the ongoing cost of the War in Iraq to the British people, and to the people of Ashfield

.

"The cost on the continued occupation of Iraq is some £1.5 Billion per year, and we have no idea how long this will last" Wendy commented. "Ashfield's share of that bill is over £2m per year, every year" Liberal Democrat research shows that £1.5 Billion could pay for 9 new hospitals or 4000 new nurses every single year.

"It really is amazing that we can find such huge sums of money to fight wars, whilst our Local heath services suffer from a crippling lack of funding"
