By-Election Candidate Selected

The Hucknall West by-election has been called for Thursday July 13th to elect a new local Councillor to replace Brian Connor.

Liberal Democrats have asked local campaigner Austin Rathe to stand in the by-election.

Ashfield Lib Dem Chairman, Jason Zadrozny says, "I am delighted that Austin has agreed to stand in this election. He is an extremely hard worker and will make an excellent Councillor for Hucknall West Ward."

The contest is likely to be a close fought fight between the Lib Dems and Labour, with the Conservatives trailing a distant third, as Hucknall West was their only seat on the District Council.
