CAMPAIGN TO SAVE STANTON HILL SERVICES GOES ONLINE

1.41.17pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 1st Sep 2006

Local Liberal Democrats have set up a campaign website to give people a chance to speak up against service closures in Stanton Hill.

The local Post Office in Stanton Hill has closed recently and it has been announced that a local supermarket in the area is to close too.

Local campaigner Jason Zadrozny said "We have set up this website to give local people a chance to express their support for our threatened services in Stanton Hill.

"The community in Stanton Hill has been hit by two thunderous blows recently. The closure of our Post Office and the news that the supermarket is to close. Local people have to make it clear to those with power that they want to save our important services.

"Liberal Democrat Councillors and campaigners are always looking for new ways to engage with local people and give them the chance to tell us their views. This website gives people in the Stanton Hill area the chance to say loudly and clearly that they want to save our supermarket and our other local services."
