An estimated 50,000 people came together to demand action on climate change today at The Wave, the biggest ever UK climate change march. The Wave called for the Government to take much more urgent and effective action.

People from all over the country dressed in blue encircled Parliament, calling on the UK government to settle for nothing less than a climate deal in Copenhagen that avoids dangerous climate change and protects the world's poorest who are already feeling its effects.

Jason Zadrozny said, "We must act now on climate chaos, only The Liberal Democrats are taking this issue seriously in Westminster".

"I was proud to stand shoulder to shoulder today with so many people who know that one day of action is worth a lifetime of words".

"This is probably the most important summit in our generation, we cannot let down the children of tomorrow by failing today. I will continue to champion greener, fairer ways both locally and nationally".

Here in Ashfield Jason is fighting to stop the Bentinck Landfill, which would see Kirkby turned into one of Europe's largest dumps.

"Local measures, like making Ashfield the 12th best dry recycling Council in the Country, and introducing garden waste collection, are some of my proudest achievements as a local Councillor. It shows that what we do here at home can help in a massive way to this worldwide issue".
